Yes, there is a growing environmental argument that brands should get out of the catalogue business.
But I disagree.‘Less’ isn’t always the answer.
In an increasingly divisive digital world, I believe good responsible print will become more powerful and even more necessary.
So the catalogue will be a cornerstone of MTTR and the way we talk to our community of rebels — not ‘paid social’.
Why? I don’t want a penny of your hard-earned money going to ‘Zuck’ or towards spreading hate speech and misinformation about the climate / ecological emergency and democracy. So we’re going old-school.
The MTTR CTLG will show you our progress, our battles, our mistaks, our thinking and our values. And if we’re doing it well, I hope it will make you feel something too.
We’ll use up-and-coming designers, illustrators, writers and photographers who have something to say for their generation. And it will be given away for free. But not given away freely.
It might be small and quiet to begin with but with your help it will make a big noise. I’m sure of that.
Bob :)
